- Ever since I started using OS/2 2.0 (i.e. under GA and now SP) I've noticed a
- problem with screen updating using certain applications in a DOS window.
-
- The commonest is CUTCP TELNET. Often when the screen updates, parts of the
- old screen get left behind. For example, when I went into EMACS to edit this
- posting, one line from the last message I read was left on the middle
- of the screen until my own message got down to that line, and I typed
- C-L to refresh. Similarly, I often see lines appear twice when doing a
- directory listing, and when I use RN to read news (all of this on a remote
- machine via TELNET), I often find that not all of the article numbers
- appear. Sometimes the last several articles only show 3 of 5 digits.
-
- I've noticed similar behavior using a statistical program called GAUSS. It doesn't,
- however, happen in a regular DOS command line session, and never happens in
- a full screen session. Has nobody else noticed this? If not, what might be
- going on? I'm running on a PS/2 model 90, with XGA display in high res. mode.
