  18. As I promised last night, I would have further information on the
  19. Proportional Software DCF/2 program tonight. For those of you
  20. that missed last nights message, DCF/2 is a disk compression
  21. program written from the ground up for OS/2. It supports both
  22. FAT and HPFS partitions, and will work across a LAN.
  23.  
  24. As I stated last night, Proportional Software has been overwhelmed by
  25. the volume of orders. However, things are being done as quickly
  26. as possible to prepare to fill the orders.

  28. One of the reasons DCF/2 was held back was that they realized that the
  29. tech support staff would be completely buried, if just a small
  30. percentage of the people receiving DCF/2 called in for support.
  31.  
  32. I have joined Proportional Software, as head of tech support. In
  33. addition to making sure that the tech support department is
  34. fully staffed, and that the people answering the phones are
  35. fully qualified, we are going to bring a 24 hour BBS online.
  36. Prompt answers are promised. We will also have a toll free tech
  37. support line during normal business hours. Additional support
  38. programs are also being worked on.

  40. Development of DCF/2 has continued, and so many additional features
  41. have been added, that the first version to ship will be version
  42. 1.1 (or later).

  44. DCF/2 will be shipped before Christmas. Orders will be shipped in the
  45. order received. You may place your order now at 1-800-666-4672
  46. (666-4 OS/2). Tell them Mark sent you, and you will get the
  47. introductory price of $99.95 if you call before New Years. Call
  48. after that, and the price will be $129.95.
