-
- Probably need to fix your config settings. I've been using TE/2 also,
- but I can't remember the settings names, so you'll have to interpolate
- from a description.
-
- Your problem(s) are probably due to having backspace set to "destructive"
- (i.e., backspace character erases the character. "Real" VT100's don't do
- destructive backspace. There, a backspace character merely moves the
- cursor backward one character position, but does not otherwise change the
- display (i.e., "nondestructive" backspace).
-
- I expect that your backspace type is set to destructive and you want non-
- destructive. Vi uses backspace a lot for positioning the cursor, so
- running it with destructive backspace on will hammer your onscreen display
- pretty badly.
-
- The same applies to Telix

-
- P.S. The termcap entry does distinguish between destructive and non-
- destructive backspace, but nondestructive IS the appropriate
- setting for vt100.
