- Working at my microcomputer store, I had the displeasure of trying to
- install OS/2 on a 'new' Z-Station.
-
- Brief history of Zenith: they stink. First it was faulty motherboards,
- then daughter boards for CPUs and now Z-BIOS. This machine barfed whenever
- I tried to install. OS/2 said there was a BIOS conflict. I called IBM, got
- a reliable techician, and there was no recorded Support for Zenith on
- their Databases.
-
- One of the problems is also Zenith's. I don't blame IBM for this (though
- my boss, and Zenith do!)
-
- If it makes you feel better, I did trick the damn thing into installing.
- When I got the message, I rebooted, and reformatted the drive. It runs
- raifly well. Only real crashing is in seamless windows mode. I can guess
- that this has something to do with the fact that these machines have SVGA
- built into the board. They couldn't be simple and use an ET4000 card,
- noooo, they want to be special =}
-
- best of luck,

- OS/2 2.0...anything else is just a DOS.
