- First of all, let me say that OS/2 is an awesome OS. However, I have one minor
- problem with my text mode (and graphics-simulated text mode) characters. It
- appears as if they have been slightly compresses in the horizontal direction.
- This is most noticable with the letters m and 0. The middle veritcal stroke in
- the letter m is so slender - it is barely visible. I sometimes can not tell
- if it is a n or m... And the number 0 normally has a 'dot' in the center of it
- (to distinguish it from a O), and that _is_ invisible.
-
- Some background/technical info: This problems has occured only once before.
- That is when I run a GIF viewer called SVGA (for DOS). When I run and exit
- this program, then my characters appear exactly as they do when I run OS/2. To
- return the characters to their normal mode I just "reset" the graphics card by
- either sending a ANSI change-mode sequence to the terminal (ie. change mode to
- 25 lines/page) or by using a chnage video mode program that came with my
- graphics card.
-
- My system is a 386/40, 16M memory, 120M HD. The video card is a basic VGA card
- w/ OAK OEM.
-
- If you have any suggestions for restoring my caracters to "normal," I would
- appreciate hearing from you!
-
- Thanks,
-
