- Note that that update will not be distributed on the net. It will be
- the equivalent of a GA (plus then current CSD) install. What I meant
- was that new packages will receive new code and be labeled "Refresh
- Level 2.00.1."
-
- How do you get your original disks updated? You contact your friendly
- IBM SE and ask him for a copy (works well if you buy a few things
- every once in a while, like a large mainframe every so often) or you
- make a copy of someone else's. Now let's make this clear lest
- everyone starts to pirate software: you have a license to OS/2 2.0,
- which entitles you to use any Service Paks or code updates TO THAT
- RELEASE. IBM doesn't particularly care how you get those updates (via
- the Internet, from a CSD copying party, etc). If you want a copy of
- the refreshed code distribution, I don't see a problem with it.
-
- This does not apply, however, to any 2.1 release of OS/2. As soon as
- they increase either the number before or after the first decimal
- point, you may be able to get a free (or reduced price) upgrade
- directly from IBM, but your license doesn't let you copy freely.
