- MY WINDOWS DOES NOT FIND MY MOUSE!
-
- OK, I know running Windows software doesn't make much
- sense if one has 12KHz AT with 1meg of RAM... However,
- I do need to run some programs every now and then.
-
- I used to have my serial mouse in com-port 1, but it had
- to be moved to com-port 3 as I added some new devices
- which _need_ to be in ports 1 and 2 ( they don't "know"
- any other ).
-
- Then I re-install Windows, both from the very beginning
- and with saved configuration - but no mice anywhere! Back
- to ms-dos, and the mouse is present and ready to go.
-
- My com-ports are:
-
- COM 1 address 3F8, irq 4 an extra printer, has to be in
- com 1 or 2
- COM 2 2F8 irq 3 modem, must be in com 1 or 2
- COM 3 3E8 irq 4 mouse
- COM 4 2E8 irq 3 ham radio packet modem
-
- Printer and modem are so oldfashioned they must be in ports
- 1 and 2, but howcome Windows cannot find mice in 3 or 4?
-
- Any suggestions what to do to modify windows.ini and system.ini,
- or whatever is needed.
-
- thanks in advance,
- Mika OH1NZQ
