  12. To all those interested.

  14. I posted earlier that I had a disk that was telling me that it was 
  15. write-protected and that I could not read or write files to or 
  16. from thsi disk.
  17. The disk drive was a Caviar 2200 WesternDigital (IDE).

  19. using attrib I found a file on the disk I had not placed there.
  20. The file was called 386spart.par 
  21.  
  22. Anyone have any ideas where the file came from, what its function is,
  23. and how to remove it without doing a low-level format of the entire
  24. disk.
