- To all those interested.

- I posted earlier that I had a disk that was telling me that it was
- write-protected and that I could not read or write files to or
- from thsi disk.
- The disk drive was a Caviar 2200 WesternDigital (IDE).

- using attrib I found a file on the disk I had not placed there.
- The file was called 386spart.par

- Anyone have any ideas where the file came from, what its function is,
- and how to remove it without doing a low-level format of the entire
- disk.
