- Hello, all!
-
- I had installed linux 0.95a on my 386 with 60mb dos and 65mb linux before, but
- switched to os2 two months later 'cause 130mb is much too crowded for three OS.
-
- Now I've got a 486-50dx2 with a maxtor 213mb HD and 16mb of RAM (with another
- maxtor 213mb HD coming in two days), I'd like to get linux back on my system.
-
- PLAN: now have dos on 110mb C:, os/2 hpfs 93mb D:, and bootmanager. when the
- other drive comes, will have 90mb FAT shared by os2 and dos, and the
- rest for linux and X.
-
- QUESTION: can someone give me a step-by-step instruction on how this can be
- done? I think I read someone's post saying that it still needs shoe-
- lace with boot manager, but I thought boot-mgr is supposed to do shoe-lace
- s job. Someone said that lilo is better than boot-mgr, but will it
- be able to handle three OS? (dos, os2, and linux)
-
- ANOTHER QUESTION: what's the story with X running on trident 8900c? will it work?
-
- any/all suggestions will be appreciated.
-
- system: 486-50dx2, 16mb ram, 2 maxtor 7213a HD, trident 8900c svga card.
