- I have installed linux (SLS packages full base + X11) in my 486DX33 computer and
- it works great except for X..
- It gives me the following error whenever I type X or X386mono :
-
- Creating TCP socket: Invalid argument.
- Fatal server error:
- Cannot establish tcp listening socket..
-
- and when I type startx:
-
- waiting for X server to shut down XFree86 Version 1.0Ya / X Window System
- (protocol version 11, revision 0, release 5000)
- Configured drivers:
- VGA2 (monochrome VGA):
- .....
- .....
-
- xinit: Interrupted system call (errno 4): Client error.
- xsetroot: unable to open display ':0'
- Error: Can't open display: ':0'
-

- I am confused why X uses TCP socket and not Unix domain, is there a way
- to bypass the TCP socket connection? I remember seeing somebody in the
- newgroup had the same problem before, but I couldn't find a reply and
- answer to the problem. I would be really grateful if somebody would tell
- me what is my problem and how to fix it.
-
- The following is my PC configuration:
- 486DX33
- Trident 8900
-
- Thanks..
