- Having munged through most of the docs etc, I have come across a problem
- that I cannot redress, that of Xlock,...
-
- The linux machine that I use here is a research machine and I have found
- that to my annoyance a normal (unix unfriendly) user can get to console
- while it is xlocked and type in crtl-alt-del which kills the server
- stone dead includeing any work I'm doing at that time (*fume* - it was
- my net-FAQ that I was working on) I locked the xserver using xlock in the
- reasonable expectation that the console would still have all my work on it
- when I can back from an errand. Instead I cam back to find this guy on it
- running amok with root privs. I have a /etc/locked shell for this guy,
- Dylan wrote it cos he also got cheesed of at this It's rather simple
- nasty and effective. I'll get Dylan to post it later.
-
- I do NOT want to use xdm. I start X with the startx command from root
- as I do alpha testing. HOW DO I STOP THAT SERVER DYING?
-
- On a completely different topic, does anyone know where the
- 'bastard operator from hell' scripts reside? I saw one and liked it,
- I may even take up some of it's practices 8-)
