- I installed Linux about two months ago (crashing my HD in the process).
- About three weeks later I took it off again, after having myrid problems
- with getting X up, and realizing that I was doing all my work in my DOS
- partition.
-
- I'm thinking about trying again now, since I would _really_ like to have an
- operating system instead of DOS/Windows which really don't cut it. (I used
- an Amiga before I bought my DOS box...now _there_ is an OS!)
-
- However, before I begin repartitioning and reinstalling, I'd like to know if
- I have any hope of getting Linux to work this time. My system is:
- 486SX/25
- Some form of generic Trident SVGA board
- Cabletron network card
-
- So, could anyone tell me if I have any chance in hell of getting X running?
- I consider myself to be a fairly experienced computer user, but I have
- little to no experience with UNIX, so if it takes a UNIX guru to get this to
- work I may as well forget it now.
-
- Thanks in advance!
