  19. A friend of mine needs information about the linux file system 
  20. for a thesis in his study. If anybody can answer one of the following
  21. questions or knows about literature please send me an e-mail.

  23. The general subject is "The LINUX File System". Some of the related
  24. questions are:

  26. - How is the LINUX file system structured?
  27.  
  28. - How are the inodes or vnodes structured?
  29.  
  30. - Does LINUX do buffered write? Is there a sync? Is there an
  31.   update process?
  32.  
  33. - How are DOS- and MINIX-disks mounted under LINUX?
  34.  
  35. - How is the superblock structered?
  36.  
  37. So if anybody can give some hints and wants to help a student
  38. please answer. As I'm not a read of this group (I don't know
