  13.     I am currently running Linux 0.98.1 but have been trying
  14. for what seems like eons to upgrade to a more recent level.
  15.     I have compiled every patch level since 98.1 successfully
  16. but none seem to want to run on my machine ( everyone has locked
  17. it up ).  It boots ok, locates my ps2 mouse, mounts the hd, 
  18. but it always! locks up before giving me the login prompt. C-A-D
  19. won't reboot it, it takes a Hardware reboot.
  20.     It was suggested that upgrading getty would fix it.
  21. I now have the getty_ps version and it works fine for 0.98.1
  22. but I still have the same old problem for the newer versions.
