- This is probably caused by one of the following things:

- - you don't have -i /etc/lilo/boot.b in /etc/lilo/install.
- If you add this option, the boot sector is updated whenever
- you update the map file.
- - you don't have -b ... in /etc/lilo/install and your boot
- sector is not at the beginning of your root partition, or
- -b ... points to the wrong device.
- - /etc/lilo/boot.b belongs to a different (*) LILO release than
- /etc/lilo/lilo. Just update your /etc/lilo directory:
- - go to the directory where your LILO source lives.
- - make install

- Now, running /etc/lilo/install should have the desired effect.
