- Hello, I'm new here and to linux, too.
- I downloaded .98p5 from tsx-11.mit.edu.
- On disk a5, there're error messages at 'zafix'.
-
- They are:
-
- chmod: dev: no file or directory found
- mknod: dev/ttys0: no file or directory found
- mknod: dev/ttys1: no file or directory found
- mknod: dev/ttys2: no file or directory found
- mknod: dev/ttys3: no file or directory found
- chmod: dev/ttys?: no file or directory found
- chown: dev/ttys?: no file or directory found
- chown: dev/kmem: no file or directory found
-
- I just went ahead to the end, and made a boot disk, but computer halts
- when booting, just after 'partition OK' and accessing hard disk once.
- I checked the directories with 'ls' and /dev/ttys? and /dev/kmem were there.
- I wonder why the error message didn't say '/dev/....' instead of 'dev/....'.
-
- Anyway, what should I do? Are there problems in zafix.taz at tsx-11.mit.edu
- or my mistake? Please, help me. Thank you.
