- Hi,
-
- I have just installed Linux a couple of days ago, from hlu's root/base/gcc/
- lib disk package and then added Xfree1.1 to it. Installation was fairly
- straightforward and X came up with the first try! However, I faced a couple
- of minor problems. The first one is, man won't work at all. It seems to go
- through all the right motions, i.e., formatting the man pages etc., but does
- not fire up the pager (less). This was determined by the man -d command. I
- compiled man and less from the sources at sunsite.unc.edu. The other is,
- less refuses to show the help file. Can anyone help me with these? It is a
- bit frustating to go without man. I hope this is not a simple permission
- problem. Thanks in advance.
