  10. After reading Sotiris Karagiannis question on using IDE and AT controller
  11. I finally bite the bullet.

  13. I tried shareware 3_drives.hdd from simtel-20 dskutl --- but it didn't install.
  14. Never gets past initialization prompt.

  16. I did cut the land to IRQ14 (pin D7 on the extended 36 connector) on
  17. DTC7287 conroller RLL --- because IRQ14 was still active with RLL controller
  18. as secondary HD at 170!!!
  19. BTW: DTC7287 can also jumper floppy to sec. and still use IDE as floppy 
  20. controller also.

  22. LIGHT BULBS go off!!! Since IRQ14 was still active when sec address ---
  23. moving IRQ from 14 to spare IRQ and copy hd.c stuff from kernel to hd_sec.c
  24. with address from primary address to sec address 170... and another IRQ gate.

  26. I plan to have second disk available for Linux (too bad not also avail for
  27. MS-DOS)

  29. I will clip lead IRQ to vidoe card (only card in my system that has connection
  30. to unused IRQ's.  Alternative is to put in blank card and clip lead from
  31. DTC7287 to blank card.  [DTC7287 only has copper for IRQ14]

  33. BTW: yes I have MD_DOS 5.0 as required by 3_drives.hdd.
  34. Tried in config.sys without much else and with it first.
