- A while back (well, a week ago) I succesfuly installed the SLS package
- and used LILO 5 to make Linux boot from /dev/hda2 *thrill*. The version
- of the kernel was 0.98pl1. This week, I recompiled the kernel twice,
- once 0.98pl4 and after that 0.98pl5. I tried using LILO again, however
- mixed up some files (map, boot.b, Image) and then even tried using LILO 6.
- The bottom line is, my hard disk can't be made bootable at all, the way
- I did it a week befoe, even if I use the Image from 0.98pl1. I get
- the following error message:
-
- 'Boot Sector is version 4 expecting version 6'
-
- or something along that line. Should I go back to using LILO 5 or does
- that have nothing to do with it. Now I'm stuck to booting from floppy
- everytime.
