- I just got ~7 MB news via uucp, and my machine was really doing much
- disk accesses. Now afterwards I was ineterested in how much news I got
- (uncompressed), and so did
- # cd /usr/spool/news
- # du
-
- This was fine until it reached the end of the comp-groups. There is nothing
- after the line
-
- 18076 ./comp
-
- I had the efs spit on me before, but that is long ago and killed a directory
- in a way that when accessing it, the machine died and had to be rebooted.
-
- STOP! CORRECTION! The process just started working again :-)
- So now I know how much news I have. It still bothers me that there is this
- pause of several seconds after ./comp!
-
- Any idea? Remy Card?

- reading news locally :-)
