- Ok I've been having a problem installing X on my system...
- I've setup SLS .98pl5 (after trying .98pl1), and it installed just
- fine. Now when I try to run X it goes screwy. I tried using the X386
- S3 server, as well as the standarad X386 monochrome server, neither of
- them gets me to where I would like to be (*a working X version*).
-
- I'm running on a 486/50 ISA machine, with 16 megs RAM, 64 meg and 36
- meg partitions for Linux, Microsoft serial mouse (on com 1), and as
- the title says, a Diamond Speedstar 24x video card. I've tried the
- settings for the Diamond Stealth that I've seen as well as the ones
- for the standard Diamond Speedstar 24. I know X is running, it's just
- not coordinated correctly with my screen... Oh yeah, I'm running a
- TAXAN 550 Multisync monitor...
-
- The manual for my video card does not list any clocks (although I was
- able to find out about 25 and 28 while trying to run X in 640x480
- mode), and being as organized as I am, I can not find the specs for my
- monitor... Oh well, I'd appreciate any help anyone has to offer...
