- The Macintosh has had quite a bit of sales, and Apple (for good reason)
- repeatedly warns you NOT to turn off the machine without shutting it down.
- (Can you say "Destroyed system file?" I knew you could...) After all, how
- hard is it to "sudo halt" or "su root; halt"?
-
- I personally tend to rate the end-user's intellegence a bit high, tho. If
- my mother can get the hang of using a Mac Classic 2 and Lotus 1-2-3, then
- most people can handle any UNIX with a good installer. (And no comments from
- the crowd about Mac, we are talking about my mother here. :)
-
- BTW: Does anyone know if the sudo writen up in _UNIX System Administration Book_
- (Nemeth, Snyder and Seebass) is in the public domain or at least for public
- distribution? If it is, then I think it would be a Good Idea (tm) to include
- sudo as part of the SLS distribution.
