- Macintoshes require you to do a "shutdown" before power-off (or, on
- Mac II's, to CAUSE the power-off), so I hardly think you can argue
- that common people can't understand the concept.

- Perhaps an X command which stops x, syncs, halts, and prints "it is
- now safe to turn off your computer" would be a good idea, though.
