- I still don't know the answer to this one...

- These were fixed with the dev.tar

- This was also fixed with the dev.tar stuff
-
- So now I have a working linux system. However, there are some problems still.
- X does not run.... I get something like this.
-
- no SIOCGIFCONF
- <standard startup stuff>
-
- xinit: cannot connect to X server
-
-
- or something similar to that... I don't have the exact words..
-
- Another problem i have is with lilo.... This is my situation....
-
- /dev/hda1 dos
- /dev/hda2 linux /
- /dev/hda3 linux /usr
- /dev/hda4 linux swap
-
- so I booted linux from the floppy of the sls, built and installed lilo, moved
- the Image from / to /etc (why is the image put in / anyhow?) and ran lilo like
- this
-
- lilo -i /etc/lilo/boot.b \
- linux=/etc/Image \
- msdos=<whatever string was for msdos>
-
- It seemed to work untill I rebooted. At that point I would get some errors
- about the kernal syncing or something about the swap space.... and then
- it just hangs with a kernal panic....
-
- Any Ideas?
-
- Thanks
