  12. I just got the SLS stuff downloaded from tsx-11.  I am pretty sure I got all 
  13. the latest stuff (Actually I got some of the older p4 version then checked 
  14. the dir listing for modification dates and got the p5 version)  Anyhow, while
  15. I was installing some problems came up.  
  16.  
  17. 1.  There always seems to be a problem with no such file /user/*.tar ?? at
  18.      the end of each disk.... Is this a problem or just a catch-all that I 
  19.      need not worry about.

  21. 2.  The directory /dev is not created but is tried to installed to during 
  22.     the install.
  23.  
  24. 3.  (after I created a /dev and installed again), couln't do a chmod on 
  25.     /dev/kmem
  26.  
  27. 4.  For some reason during install, /dev/hda2 was mounted as / 
  28.     let me explain my partitioning..... 
  29.        /dev/hda1 was dos.
  30.        /dev/hda2  exdended partition.
  31.        /dev/hda5  linux within extended partition.
  32.            /dev/hda6  linux swap within extended partition.
  33.        /dev/hda3  linux root
  34.        /dev/hda4  boot manager.
  35.     I used the following command for install

  37.        doinstall /dev/hda3 /dev/hda5 /usr
  38.  
  39. 5.  After the install, and a newly created floppy disk was made, I tried 
  40.     booting from the floppy... It did't work, It got as far as checking the 
  41.     partitions and then just hung there....

  43. That's about the complete list of my problems.  I checked the SLS FAQ
  44. and could 
  45. not find answers to these questions there.... If anyone can help me I
  46. would 
  47. appreciate it...
