- I just got the SLS stuff downloaded from tsx-11. I am pretty sure I got all
- the latest stuff (Actually I got some of the older p4 version then checked
- the dir listing for modification dates and got the p5 version) Anyhow, while
- I was installing some problems came up.
-
- 1. There always seems to be a problem with no such file /user/*.tar ?? at
- the end of each disk.... Is this a problem or just a catch-all that I
- need not worry about.
-
- 2. The directory /dev is not created but is tried to installed to during
- the install.
-
- 3. (after I created a /dev and installed again), couln't do a chmod on
- /dev/kmem
-
- 4. For some reason during install, /dev/hda2 was mounted as /
- let me explain my partitioning.....
- /dev/hda1 was dos.
- /dev/hda2 exdended partition.
- /dev/hda5 linux within extended partition.
- /dev/hda6 linux swap within extended partition.
- /dev/hda3 linux root
- /dev/hda4 boot manager.
- I used the following command for install
-
- doinstall /dev/hda3 /dev/hda5 /usr
-
- 5. After the install, and a newly created floppy disk was made, I tried
- booting from the floppy... It did't work, It got as far as checking the
- partitions and then just hung there....
-
- That's about the complete list of my problems. I checked the SLS FAQ
- and could
- not find answers to these questions there.... If anyone can help me I
- would
- appreciate it...
-
- Thanks
- Byong
