  32. if people aren't able (or willing) to learn it, it is NOT the best thing
  33. since anything.  It's just another overly complicated solution to a
  34. problem that few people have.

  36. look at 'vi' for example.  It *does* do what it was intended to do.
  37. it's a pretty snappy editor that can do great things if you bleed enough
  38. to learn it.

  40. but people want things like the MSDOS editor 'qedit' where you can
  41. just get in there and type away...so 'vi' can't be considered to be
  42. the definitive joe-user editor, because invariably joe-user hates it.
  43. They just use it because it's the only editor on just about all unixes
  44. as delivered from the vendor.
