  12. Lately I seem to be having problems with GCC and X11.  I have been
  13. runnging Linux flawlessly since September but these problems have
  14. crept up in the last week.  First the problems.  X11 doesn't seem
  15. to want to start all the time.  The server starts up, and the ghost
  16. image from the last session pops up on the screen, and then everything
  17. hangs.  I am not sure if the entire system hangs because I can't do 
  18. remote logins (yet).  My caps-lock and a macro key (Gateway Anykey
  19. Keyboard) also hang X if I get it started.  Now the GCC problem.  I
  20. go the syslogd source from sunsite and tried to compile it, but the
  21. compile failed.  /usr/include/unistd.h spewed out pages of warnings
  22. about parse error before const on lines that const char* stuff on it.
  23. I know this compiles because one of my friends compiled it on his
  24. machine.

  26. These problems seemed to pop up after I installed 0.98pl5 and then
  27. recompiled 0.98pl3 because of binaries breaking.  Does anyone have any
  28. ideas what I could have done to my system?

  33.     Linux 0.98pl3 with TCP and without SCSI
  34.     Two partitions:
