  11. MY computer is as follows:
  12. 386-40
  13. 4MB-70ns RAM
  14. 65MB ST-277R drive, 28ms access, 650kB transfer rate.
  15. Monochrome running on a standard color VGA (8-bit card)

  17. My problem is that I think that X is far too slow.  What Can
  18. I do to speed the computer up???  When I type startx -np am
  19. I not disabling TCP.  I would rather not have TCP at all and
  20. use the Extra RAM instead of swapping it to disk.     
  21. ++ Can anybody help me with my monitor I have:
  22. Card: 25 28 26 Mhz clock occilators on card 
  23. Moniter: 31.5khz horizontal, 60-70khz vertical
  24. (I figure the Monitor is the weak  link)
