  12. I recently got an Ethernet card and began experimenting with the
  13. TCP/IP stuff.  Just for fun, I brought home an old NCD Xterminal.
  14. This particular one doesn't have its "OS" present in ROM, but rather
  15. gets it off of a remote machine using tftp.

  17. Well, needless to say, things worked quite smoothly and I now have 
  18. a decent sized mono display to complement my 640x480 color screen.

  20. Linux has certainly breathed a lot of new life into some tired
  21. old hardware.  I'm looking forward to getting NFS going and
  22. finding a use for an old IBM RT that I salvaged some time ago.
  23. It's dog-slow, but it has lots of disk space. :-)
