- this is no doubt a dumb question if you know the
- answer, but since I don't, and can't find it, I'll
- risk the flames anyway :-)
-
- I've put together a binary-only beta of newspak1.1,
- which includes C-news/newsreaders/smail for Linux
- that all assume the same directory structure, and
- therefore all work together.
-
- I made the package available for some testers, and
- one responded that the /lib/libso.2.2 they're
- compiled with isn't in his SLS 0.98-1 installation
- (probably true, since I'm a 0.97pl2 mcc-interim
- with jump4.1 added to the compiler).
-
- I'd like to recompile everything 'the right way'
- so that I can get a set of binaries out there
- that work now, and hopefully will continue to
- work with future versions of the kernel and compiler.
-
- What magic flag(s) do I need to specify in the Makefiles
- for all the pieces ? Is is as simple as adding '-jump' ?
-
- No flame intended at the compiler folks, but I've been
- unable to read the docs and understand them worth a
- damn. I'm sure they're right...if you knew the answer
- already...but they're sure aren't clear enough to me
- at least.
-
- How 'do' you all compile your binary-only distribution
- of things ??? Any help would be appreciated. For what
- it's worth, I'd appreciate any 'RTFM' answers to answer
- the question in their RTFM reply *and* point me to the
- documentation I either missed or didn't comprehend.
-
- thanks...
