  13. I have been having problems with a few X programs and was wondering if it
  14. was because these were old programs or what.

  16. I ftp'd  GWM (from sunsite I think) and installed it on my machine. 
  17. I took out my call to twm and added this line in its place:

  21. Fine.  I start up my x session by doing 'startx' and X crashes. I get this
  22. error:

  24.     gwm: Can't load library '/lib/libX11.1.1'

  26. hmmm.  
  27. Is this an old lib file?  I believe the closest thing to this in my lib
  28. directory was liX11.so.2.1.  So, can I still use this version of gwm? And
  29. if not does anyone have the sources so I can compile a new version?

  32. I Also have tried downloading xv from several places and keep having this
  33. problem: When I try to untar it, Tar tells me it doesn't think it's a tar
  34. file.  This is AFTER uncompressing it!
