  13. Hi fellow linuxers,

  15. Lately I recompiled the kernel ( 0.98pl1 ) on my machine to include the network
  16. stuff and got a few compilation warnings while doing so. I am wondering if these
  17. can cause any trouble with the operating system or if I should forget about them.
  18. They where mostly types inconsistencies if I recall. BTW, the warning where not
  19. necessarily related to the network software.

  21. Also, when I boot the system, I get the "unexpected interrupt" error from the
  22. floppy. I thought it was gone with this distribution ( SLS 0.98pl1 ). It doesn't
  23. bother me much but since it is supposed to be gone I wonder about its presence.
  24. Any ideas?

  26. When starting X11 with "startx" I get the following error message:

  32. what does the "no SIOCGIFCONF" message mean and what are its effects on the system?
  33. Note that X11 works normally and I really enjoy it.

  37. BTW I haven't been running DOS for quite a while and I must admit, I do not miss it
  38. for a single CPU cycle.
