- Hi fellow linuxers,
-
- Lately I recompiled the kernel ( 0.98pl1 ) on my machine to include the network
- stuff and got a few compilation warnings while doing so. I am wondering if these
- can cause any trouble with the operating system or if I should forget about them.
- They where mostly types inconsistencies if I recall. BTW, the warning where not
- necessarily related to the network software.
-
- Also, when I boot the system, I get the "unexpected interrupt" error from the
- floppy. I thought it was gone with this distribution ( SLS 0.98pl1 ). It doesn't
- bother me much but since it is supposed to be gone I wonder about its presence.
- Any ideas?
-
- When starting X11 with "startx" I get the following error message:
-
- ==> "no SIOCGIFCONF"
- XFree86 Version 1.1 / X Window System
- (protocol......
-
- what does the "no SIOCGIFCONF" message mean and what are its effects on the system?
- Note that X11 works normally and I really enjoy it.
-
- Thanks for any information on the matter.
-
- BTW I haven't been running DOS for quite a while and I must admit, I do not miss it
- for a single CPU cycle.
