- Well, me too. I tried the Xconfig someone sent some days ago, but it did
- not work either.
- I use following system:
-
- Intel 486/33, 4 MB RAM
- Quantum 240AT-IDE Harddisk
- Trident 8900 SVGA (Bios 2.11D)
- Logitech-Mouse on Com1:
-
- There is no problem running X in monochrome mode, but if I specify
- "tvga8900" as chipset, the screen darkens. If I use startx from X running
- in monochrome mode, I get XINIT: server error, then startx stops. If I
- don t specify any chipset at all, then I get "trident 8900 supports only
- tvga 8900c" (something about this) and "none of the above recognized".
-
- Has anyone any idea of what to do to get that damned thing working ?
- Quite a lot of people seem to have problems with that card and X386.
- So, if anyone has a solution for that problem or just a running XConfig -
- please mail it to me. Thanks a lot.
