  14. I have a big problem with the built-in getty.

  16. My inittab contains the line :

  18.     ttys1:vt100:/etc/getty 9600 ttys1
  19.  
  20. Normally should the terminal connected to COM2 (this is ttys1 on my
  21. system) show the login prompt. But nothing happened !!

  23. When i start getty from the shell with getty 9600 tty1, it 
  24. returns "HangUp".

  26. The extern terminal is another PC connected with a serial cable and
  27. and null-modem connector (2-3,3-2,4-5,5-4 ...).

  29. I've tried getty_ps and it works after i typed in 
  30. "/bin/getty ttys1 9600". But is very boring to initialize the terminal
  31. with this sequence.
