- I was curious as to what'd happen if i tried to compile the system
- as is on my Tandy 4800HD (486sx-20, 4 mb ram) laptop.
-
- Apparently, the compiles go to a certain point, then I receive a
- message from gcc and/or the system, telling me i'm out of memory.
-
- 1) is there a program that monitors/reports the amout of actual free
- memory while linux is running?
-
- 2) how much memory is "required" to make a new kernal? I'm interested
- in applying patches 2-4 on the SLS 0.98.p1 system that I have.
