- Hi! Been fighting with my system for the weekend. ka9q does an excellent
- job of providing *outgoing* slip for my system at 9600 with v.42bis.
- I'm really pleased with it, in fact I'm using it now and there's no problems.
-
- however. I run a Bulletin Board. I've got everything set up so that
- internet users will be able to get to my board except for one slight problem.
-
- KA9Q doesn't let you telnet into my machine! the "telunix" client in
- version 7 of ka9q (the latest i could find on the FTP sites) lists this
- as "completely broken". I tend to agree.
-
- I hear that Kernel SLIP is in conceptual alpha phase, as in someone else
- besides me thinks that this is a good idea.
-
- Is anyone out there working on the ka9q telunix client? if not, what do
- I need to do to make it functional? I don't have anything against using
- ka9q for my slip, in fact, i rather think it's going to be easier to
- use with my slip host than kernel slip will be.
-
- I've got the slip bug and the only cure is seeing someone i've never met
- logging onto my computer! <grin> Someone help a poor ol' sysop out here!
-
- Also, I seem to recall hearing that someone managed to get the Pirates BBS
- program to work under linux. Is this a myth? I didn't see it on the
- ftp sites. If it's true, are there diffs available? Pirates is kinda weak,
- but the Eagles BBS that grew from Pirates is a little more functional.
- (This is a better solution than the current kludge i've got so that users
- logging into my linux machine get routed out a serial port and connected
- to *another* pc running ms-dos and WWIV. sick, isn't it. ;-)
-
- Anyway.. I hope someone can help me out.. thanks.
