- Just a wild guess, but if you mean ".pcf", then the files are the new
- X11R5 "Portable Compiler Format" format. These are portable, but made
- for a particular system; i.e. they will work on any X11R5 system, but
- will have to be converted on the fly if the binaries are not directly
- compatible. This would explain the delay you describe.

- This may be way off, it was the "or whatever" that made me wonder
- if you meant ".pcf".
