  12. I am running version .98 of the SLS release of Linux. After playing with it
  13. for the best part of a week I have got almost everyting working correctly.
  14. There are however several questions I have:

  16. 1 - Syslog

  18. How do I get it working? What is the name of the file it outputs information to?
  19. There is no syslogd program included with the SLS release, just the binary
  20. syslog.

  22. 2 - Makewhatis

  24. This program is supposed to read the title information from all the man pages.
  25. Unfortunately it doesnt work as the directorys in the script are not the same
  26. as the actual man directorys. This is easily changed, however the gawk script
  27. included in tyhe makewhatis program also does not work correctly. As I don't
  28. know much about awk scripts can anyone help!

  30. 3 - Login

  32. The login program included with the SLS release does not log invalid attempts,
  33. retrys etc. Is there another version availibke which is more advanced?
