  14. I recently installed a copy XFree86 on my newly installed 386BSD. I am
  15. experiencing many problems. Hope experts out there would help me out.

  17. Hardware:
  18.    40 MHz 386DX
  19.    AMI BOIS 7/7/91
  20.    No math coprocessor
  21.    8 meg ram
  22.    200 meg and 40 meg IDE drives
  23.    Fahrenheit 1280 vedio card
  24.  
  25. OS:
  26.    386BSD binary distribution from agate.berkeley.edu
  27.    No source distribution, no etc dirstribution
  28.    Updated kernel for XFree86
  29.    XFree86 bininary distribution from the same ftp host
  30.    X server is set to X386mono (trying to start generic VGA mode)
  31.  
  32. Problems:
  33.    Printer driver missing (/dev/lp)
  34.    C compiler does not work with floating point numbers
  35.        -- all numbers are rounded off to intgers
  36.    Mtools does not work,
  37.        message-- init: open: No such a file or dirctory
  38.    X server will not start,
  39.        message-- Fatal I/O error 32. Broken pipe on X server...
