  12. -> Ive got an old 5-5 that seems to have a bad power supply. When I
  13. -> power it on, the floppy drive does this real nifty clicking noise,
  14. -> and the hard drive doesnt seem to spin up. I get nothing on the
  15. -> console. Does anyone happen to have prints of this power supply?

  18. Try looking for the cooling fan fins on the drive's platter motor. If
  19. you can tell which way the drive spins, (look at the fins to see which
  20. way it is trying to move if you aren't sure), nudge the drive a bit, and
  21. it should spin up. (Do this with the drive powered up).

  23. I have found this to be a problem with a CDC WREN-II drive in an AT&T
  24. 3B2-300 that Larry Moore has. (Tell Andy we still need some guidance in
  25. it, but we are getting closer to having a functional UUCP system).
