- I don't feel they can hold this title. In my *opinion* (and that's all it is)
- it's a tossup between ParcPlace and NeXT. ParcPlace has Smalltalk - the
- (arguably) granddaddy of OO languages and a very impressive development
- environment. NeXT has the Appkit - and equally impressive application
- development environment (but *very* different), coupled to a unified imaging
- model (Display PostScript). More importantly NeXT has a great number of third
- party *object* vendors - today.
