- One more additional note: 8-bit CODEC mulaw is the standard format for
- low-quality sound files on the NeXT, which has made the term more common
- what with all the NeXT music question stuff. The NeXT's microphone
- records in mulaw. The NeXT likewise has utilities, both command-line and
- graphical, for converting between mulaw and 16-bit, 22 or 44KhZ.
