- You talked about starting a CD-ROM student publication, which should be a lot
- of fun for yourself and others. But don't overlook the possibility of an
- online publication, which saves you the duplication costs of the CD-ROMs
- (yes, I know they're pretty, but they're still $2 - $3 to produce, even if
- you do all the file preparations...) and lets people get them from around the
- world more quickly than a mailing. Investigate whether DU could get enough
- online storage so you could support anonymous ftp and an e-mail server for
- the ~600 MB you'll have, and then rotate the contents of that disk space for
- your new editions.
-
- I wish I could tell you exactly the pluses and minuses involved with this kind
- of activity, but come back in six months -- ACM SIGGRAPH will be putting out an
- online experimental special issue of _Computer Graphics_ next May, and I think
- we'll learn a lot from the process.
-
- Have fun, and good luck!
