- This isn't going to be as useful as you might think. Remember the QuickTime
- JPEG compressor only supports two pixel depths: 8-bit greyscale and 24-bit
- (actually 32-bit) colour. If you dither the image down to 8 bit colour and
- then try compressing it with JPEG, it will just be converted back to 24 bits
- again, and you'll have lost image quality without gaining anything in display
- speed, or probably even compression size.

- And if you use some other compressor, you won't get as good compression as
- with JPEG. The obvious one to try, though, is the "Graphics" compressor,
- which is supposed to deal well with 8-bit dithered images.
