- I would like to experiment with re-programming automobile computers.
- I have seen ads for high performance chips in various
- auto mags which claim to increase a cars performance through
- the use of a new chip for the auto's computer.
-
- My questions include:
-
- Do these chips have industry standard
- EPROM or PROM configurations?
-
- Do these chips contain merely a list of parameters for your engine
- or is this info a real program?
-
- What kind of CPU's do they use? Is it an ASIC or do car manufacturers
- like to use standard microcontrollers (ie: the PIC series)?
-
-
- If you have an answer to one or more of these questions, or
- you know of where I can obtaian more info about this
- topic, please post or Email.
