- Has anybody out there had any problems with Midwest Micro, specifically
- with a computer purchased there?
-
- Here's what I am dealing with:
-
- Five months ago, I purchased an "Elite" 386 DX system from them, along
- with a printer, monitor, etc. It worked fine for about three months,
- and then the nightmare began.
-
- I first suffered a "catastrophic Motherboard Failure", and the tech
- people there sent me a new motherboard, instructing me how to install it
- myself. This worked fine for about a month, at which time the damn thing
- began crashing repetitively, as well as "locking up", requiring a power-down.
-
- The third motherboard was then shipped, and it failed to work as soon as
- it was installed. I was pissed, and they agreed to take the entire
- system back. I was withoug
- without a computer for about 2 weeks, since they sent it back to the wrong
- address. They had replaced the motherboard, as well as the hard drive.
- (they did not bother to copy my old data onto the new drive - they sent
- me a blank drive!!)_
-
- This worked for 10 days, at which time it crashed again. Once again I
- have sent it back to the company and I am waiting for a response.
- They refuse to give me a refund since the 30 day money back guarantee
- is long since passed - I have basically flushed $2000 + down the toilet.
-
- Has anybody else had troubles with Midwest Micro? I'd really like to
- hear about it...we could start a club of bankrupt, conned, innocent students!
- mail me at:

-
- (maybe there's a lawyer out there who can give me some advise, or at
- least somebody could cheer me up!!)
