- Yes, but both of these situations are the exception rather than the
- rule. You're right that it's certainly not a perfect world where modems
- are concerned. You can't let the modem negotiate everything on it's own.

- However, you're better off trying to apply the rule before you create
- an exception, or you'll have Devices and Dialers overflowing with them.
