- The Center for Information Management Research (CIMR) is sponsoring a
- multi-media technology fair at the College of Computing at Georgia Tech
- in Atlanta Ga., on Wednesday, December 9 from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
-
- The purpose of the fair is to demonstrate state-of-the-art multi-media
- technologies to potential users, and other multi-media researchers.
-
- We will showcase technology from vendors of multi-media technology as well as
- multi-media applications developers. You will see first-hand how this technology
- is currently being used, or how it will be used. Networked applications,
- collaborative work, and innovative uses will be highlighted. Also, the
- award-winning Olympics interactive video developed by Georgia Tech faculty and

-
- CIMR was developed in 1988 at the University of Arizona and Georgia Institute
- of Technology to promote research that focuses on the complexity of today's
- distributed organizations, the information systems that attempt to support
- those organizations, and the complexity of developing such information
- systems.
-
- The Center conducts research on behalf of its member companies. In addition,
- the Center provides additional consulting to its members upon request.
- Four of the eight member companies are also supporting enhancement projects,
- specifically targeted at needs of those member companies.
-
- In addition to annual meetings for the member companies, the CIMR conducts
- annual technology fairs, bringing together researchers, advanced development
- engineers, and users of technology to showcase state of the
- art tools appropriate to the development or use of information systems.
- Planned future technology fairs will showcase CASE tools, collaboration
- technologies and network management systems.
