  13.     Hi,
  14.         I compiled elm2.4 on both Sun stations and HP's. I
  15. HAVE to set 'rwx' permissions for the Owner, Group and Other fields for
  16. the mail directory ie. /usr/spool/mail in case of SUNs. Further
  17. individual user mailboxes in the /usr/spool/mail/ directory have 'rw'
  18. for Owner ONLY. This  prevents others from peeking into one's mail.
  19. BUT, one could just delete the whole mail directory i.e
  20. /usr/spool/mail/ because of the permissions. 
  21.         NOW, I would like to set mail directory to 755 or 775.
  22. If I do it I get a message saying :

  24. Can't create lock file! Need write permission in "/usr/spool/mail/".

  26.     Kindly tell me (ASAP) what I need to do to have /usr/spool/mail/ with
  27. 775 or 755 permissions.
