  11.    I'm going to use a scanner to scan through a set of Chinese characters.
  12. I want to use either Omnipage or applescan to save each character as an
  13. image file which could be converted into a binary file. I noticed that
  14. with using Omnipage or some scanner software can save character as an image
  15. file in either PCX or tiff(compressed or uncompressed.) I wonder how can I
  16. know what format the PCX or tiff file is and whether, and how it can be
  17. converted into a binary file. Thanks lot for any help on this.
